College of Nursing

The College of Nursing provides a strong academic program, professors with firsthand knowledge and a realistic learning environment for future nurses. We offer program options in Brookings, Rapid City, Sioux Falls and online. We also offer a health science minor for both nursing and non-nursing students and an innovative healthcare leadership specialization for students pursuing their Bachelor of Science in health studies through the College of Education and Human Sciences.

This program provides a strong academic and clinical background for entry into professional nursing, as well as opportunities for registered nurses to further their education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in nursing prepares scientists to assume roles as health care researchers, faculty and health care administrators with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention in underserved and rural populations.
